PORTER TOWNSHIP -
A Lawton man is hospitalized after a Friday afternoon shooting in Van Buren County.
According to the Michigan State Police Paw Paw Post, at 3:55 p.m. troopers responded to a report of a shooting in the 28000 block of Cederama Drive in Porter Township. Troopers said upon arriving it appeared that a domestic dispute at the residence had led to a 40-year-old man from Lawton being shot.
They said the man is now hospitalized at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Troopers said the man's 41-year-old wife and 17-year-old son were taken to Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw where both were treated and released for injuries sustained in the incident.
Troopers said no arrests have been made and that detectives are interviewing the victim and relatives Saturday afternoon.
The incident remains under investigation.
