GRAND RAPIDS -
Soon there could be more help for families struggling with mental health problems. On Wednesday, network180 announced that it has received a $6 million dollar grant from the federal government.
The non-profit hopes to use the money to expand their services for mental health, drug recovery, and developmental difficulties, partnering more extensively with Kent County Public Intermediate Schools and the Department of Human Services. Directors say it couldn't come at a better time ---an additional 1,000 families have sought help from the organization in just the past two years.
The grant money will also allow network180 to hire several additional staff members, including a liaison for family court and human services.
