MUSKEGON HEIGHTS -
The Muskegon Heights Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own. Police Chief Clifton Johnson died Sunday morning at his home.
Johnson was a native of Muskegon Heights, who joined the city's Police Department back in 1988. He was appointed Interim Police Chief in 2005, then was hired by the city council the following year. Investigators say it looks like natural causes.
Muskegon Heights Mayor Darryl Paige said Johnson was a great leader that will be missed. He's survived by his wife and two children. Funeral arrangements are still being made.
