Grand Rapids - A new $27 million health care facility is just one step away from being constructed to serve low income families on the south side of downtown Grand Rapids.

Cherry Street Health Services, Touchstone Innovare, and Proaction Behavioral Health Alliance making plans for the facility to be located at the corner of Cherry Street and Sheldon Avenue in downtown Grand Rapids. The organizations would all be located in the same building. The three long-time non-profits are looking to combine their services into one building so they can serve more people and offer better health care. It would allow them to take on more customers and give low income families affordable access to different types of health care under the same roof.

More and more people in this tough economy are turning to non-profits in Grand Rapids for health services because they're losing their insurance and can't afford health care.
