GRAND RAPIDS - Make A Wish Foundation and several local companies come together to make a dream come true. 17-year-old Robert Oliveira was diagnosed with lymphoma last year wanted a little work done on his grandfather's truck. Today his grandfather's 1995 Dodge Ram, looked brand new.

"Just wow. I can't believe its too much. Its more than anybody could ask for. Its more than I definitely asked for and I can't thank them enough," said Robert Oliveira.

Not only was Oliveira diagnosed with lymphoma last year, but he lost his grandfather a year ago today.

"This is just one year ago that sweet grandpa left and went to heaven its turned the day from one of sorrow and despair into a real joy and celebration for Robert," said Oliveira's Grandmother Shirley Katt.

After his grandfather died, the truck was given to Robert.

"He meant a lot to me. I don't think I ever told him this but he's an inspiration on my life," said Oliveira.

Robert admits he and the truck have had their battles with stationary objects like a fence and a mail box.

The thought of this truck getting a new look helped Robert stay positive and get through almost eight months of chemo. And now that he's cancer free, he's thinking road trip.

Knowing his history with his grandpa's truck, his family hopes he'll be careful.

"And I hope he doesn't scratch grandpa's truck on on the way home. He won't," said Katt.
