One woman enlists family and friends to help the homeless. Karla Widing says she's not part of an organization, but saw a need and decided to step up, even though her own circumstances are tough."I lost my job a year ago and we decided just because we're broke doesn't mean we can't serve, and it actually it made us as a family we decided to come serve Christmas Eve," said Widing.
She gathered up her family and friends to hand out gloves, and blankets outside guiding light mission. helping the homeless get through winter's second coldest month.
"I emailed all my friends and family and we collected over a 150, 200 blankets, 300 gloves," said Widing.
The volunteers say its hard knowing that many of these people are carrying everything they own on their backs. Karla says she's glad she's not doing this alone.
"Collectively, we can make a difference we can't make a difference one at a time but together we can," said Widing.
