SPRING LAKE -
After nearly three decades of helping others, International Aid in Spring Lake is closing its doors.
Employees were told of the decision this afternoon.
"While this was a tough decision for all of us who believe in the mission of the organization, we simply do not have the resources to continue even another day," said IA Board Chair Roger Spoelman.
The shutdown affects 40 U.S. employees as well as 32 employees in Honduras and the Philippines.
In 1980, International Aid started helping people impacted by natural disasters, as well as sending health care services, technology, training and supplies to developing countries.
