KENT COUNTY -
The Humane Society of Kent County is ready to find new homes for 11 dogs they were seized in a dog fighting operation. The U.S. District Court Tuesday has granted the Humane Society full custody of the dogs so they can be adopted.
For nine months the Humane Society of Kent county has been housing 13 dogs seized in a dog fighting operation in Bad Axe. Eleven of the dogs were not fighting dogs and are now ready to be adopted, more research is being done on the two to determine if they were used in fighting.
The Humane Society is accepting applications for the dogs, most are pit bulls.
Karen Terpstra, the executive director of the Humane society says,"This provides us with the opportunity to give these dogs a chance at anormal life in loving homes."
