LEE TOWNSHIP - An Allegan County family is mourning the loss of a toddler after he's trapped inside a burning home.

It happened just after midnight in the 1100 block of 58th Street in Lee Township, about 20 miles southwest of Allegan. Nine people were home, including five children.

Neighbors awoke to desperate screams as family members tried to reach Scott Ray Bogseth. He would've turned three this weekend. "I heard the mom screaming, 'My baby! I can't get to him. He's in the back room,'' says Tamora Castillo, a neighbor.

Investigators are still looking for a cause, but don't suspect this was arson. Neighbors say several families were using candles since Tuesday's storms had knocked out the power.

This is the third deadly fire in West Michigan in just one week.
