HOMER—
Upon arrival, Deputies discovered a vehicle traveling westbound on U. Drive South had lost control and went off the road. It then overturned and hit a tree. 7 year old Robert MIchael Ruh III from Litchfield, Michigan was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, 8 year old Austin Creed Ruh, also from Litchfield, was airlifted by Med Flight to the University of Michigan Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a 30-year-old man from Litchfield, Michigan was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death. He is being held at the Calhoun County Jail. His name is not being released tonight.
The accident is under investigation.
