IONIA COUNTY -
At around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, the Jackson family in Clarksville, in Ionia County, got a call saying their house was on fire. Alan Jackson, being a volunteer firefighter, knew exactly what he would see.
When Jackson, his son, and his ex-wife arrived at the house, it was already completely engulfed on one side. All of their possessions were either destroyed by the flames or ruined by smoke and water damage.
Unfortunately, this is not the first tragedy to hit this family this year. Back in September Jackson was critically injured after falling 22 feet off the roof of his pole barn. He landed on a pile of wood, and could have died.
Today he's still recovering from broken ribs, a dislocated elbow, and a broken ankle.
For the family who almost lost Jackson exactly three months ago, the shock of yet another disaster is hard to take in.
Amazingly enough, the family is staying positive. They are thankful to have each other, and to them, that's all that matters.
Jackson says the bad luck isn't going to deter him from re-building his house right where it burned down.
