GRAND RAPIDS - Detectives with the Grand Rapids Police Department are investigating a shooting at 1014 Tamarack St., near the intersection of Leonard and Alpine, at about 1:45 p.m. Sunday.
Neighbors told FOX 17 NEWS that two men pulled up in front of the house in a shiny black Cadillac Escalade, entered the home, fired five shots and then took off. Two men were wounded; one man appeared to be in serious condition.
"There were several witnesses at the house. They did not know the shooters," Sgt. Chris Postma of the Grand Rapids Police told FOX 17.
Neighbors said one of the victims is Chad Lax, 27. He was hit twice, including once in the stomach. Lax was paroled two years ago, and his friends say he was trying to be a good father. "It's just sad you know, I hope he's okay I've been praying, you know?" Rich Remults told FOX 17 News.
The other man was shot in the backside. Detectives say they believe both men, who are brothers, will survive their injuries. No suspects have yet been identified.
