ALLEGAN COUNTY - An 18 year old from Dorr is charged in two incidents earlier this year involving young women he knows.

Eric Schulze is charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct, fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of first-degree home invasion for an incident court files say happened in February 2009.

Prosecutors filed a second case charging Schulze with assault with intent to commit penetration, indecent exposure and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, for an incident in March 2009. Schulze was 17 at the time of the alleged incidents.

Schulze pled not guilty to the charges. His attorney Gerald Stahl says the allegations came to light when a teacher learned of the alleged assault on one of the victims and told police. Schulze is due back in court on September 4th. Stahl says Schulze is contemplating a plea deal to third- and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Schulze is listed as a starting player on the Hopkins High School Football Team. We tried to reach the coach, Rex Weaver, and Superintendent Chris Stephens to find out what Schulze's status on the team is during this legal process. Neither of the men returned our calls. A family member of Athletic Director Scott VanBonn told us that he did not want to take our calls. The next Hopkins game is scheduled for Thursday.
