WAYLAND - Investigators in Wayland say they've identified and charged the man that stole a donation jar from a Speedway gas station last October. Police were called to the station on West Superior Street near US 131 on October 11th for a report of a Larceny.

Surveillance video tells the tale. The man walked up to the counter, slipped the donation canister into his jacket, then walked out. The money was intended to go to the Children's Miracle Network to help sick children in need of financial assistance.

Details in the investigation led to the arrest of Bruce Randal Nard of Mattawan today. He was arrested at the Van Buren County Jail in Paw Paw where he was being held on other charges not related to this case.

Investigators say Nard is now facing a felony charge of Larceny from a Building, and another charge for a traffic warrant out of the Michigan State Police post in Wayland.

He's being held on $10,000 bond, and will be back in court later this month.
