WEST MICHIGAN -
Areas of dense fog will persist overnight in the counties near Lake Michigan where visibilities are expected to remain at or below a quarter of a mile in many locations through early Tuesday morning. A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 8 AM Tuesday for Berrien, Cass, Van Buren, Allegan, Ottawa, Muskegon, Oceana, and Mason counties including the cities of Benton Harbor/St. Joseph, South Haven, Holland, Grand Haven, Muskegon, Whitehall, Montague, Pentwater, and Ludington. Farther inland, clear skies early tonight could lead to the formation of locally dense fog in some areas before daybreak. Drivers are advised to slow down and watch out for other vehicles and pedestrians.
After a remarkable stretch of eight sunny and mild days in a row, the Grand Rapids metro area and the rest of West Michigan will continue to enjoy mild temperatures in the 40s and 50s this week, but will see much more in the way of cloud cover along with an increasing chance of rain. In fact, some computer models are forecasting over an inch of rain could fall from late Tuesday night through the upcoming weekend with heavier rain showers possible on Thursday into Friday.
