VAN BUREN COUNTY -
Investigators in Van Buren County are seeking charges for a 64-year old man accused of animal neglect.
A witness called police when they say the man throwing garbage bags into the ditch line that runs along the edge of the lightly traveled portion of 60th Street in Geneva Township.
When officers arrived, they discovered 3 dead Beagles inside the bags.
They traced the man's license plates to his home nearby where they discovered more problems.
After making contact with the suspect, another dead Beagle was found still chained up inside his dog house on the property.
Two live dogs, a 2-year old Beagle and a Walker Hound were also discovered on the man's property but were very malnurished.
All 6 dogs in this incident were found to be in a state of malnutrition and emaciation.
The live dogs were examined by Dr. Weideman of the Bangor Veterinary Clinic and are currently being held at the Van Buren County Animal Control Facility.
Deputies will be seeking charges from the Van Buren County prosecutors Office.
