Three Creston High School students received a big help when it comes to their future.

They were all recipients of the Gates Millenium Scholarship, provided by Bill and Melinda Gates. The award provides students with full tuition, room, board and even books all the way through a Ph.D. Around 21,000 students competed for the award, only 1,000 are given out nationwide. Seniors Darrartu Ali, Storee Harris and Saul Valle all received the prestigious honor. They were encouraged by school counselor Maya Frazier.

"We found out we had one I thought, well, we've got one so that's really great. And when I found we had two, I thought, oh my gosh, we have two! Then when we found out we had a third I think that's when the tears started," said Frazier.

All three of the students plan to go into pre-med.
