BANGOR -
Last night, a 59 year old man from Bangor was found laying in a creek in the 59000 block of 26th Avenue.
Police say the man was on private property, with the lower half of his body submerged in the water. It was approximately 3 degrees outside at the time.
Investigators say the man drove his full size pick-up truck down his driveway , but was unable to make the sharp turn and ended up going straight into the ravine. Before that, he had already driven another vehicle from the driveway into a snow drift and got it stuck.
He was treated at the scene for head injuries and exposure to the extreme temperatures, then airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
Charges will be filed with the Van Buren County Prosecutors Office once they get the blood results.
