Police are withholding the identity of a driver who was killed when his car struck a tree at the intersection of Alden Nash Avenue and 92nd Street near Alto.
The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m., and the intersection was closed for hours. Debris covered the pavement, with only half of the car remaining intact, sitting in the middle of the road.
The Kent County Dispatch Center said relatives had to be notified before a name could be released.
