In a move that surprised no one, state Senator Bill Hardiman (R-Grand Rapids) announced his candidacy for Congress to replace retiring Congressman Verh Ehlers.
Hardiman chose Hascall Steel Corporation in Grandville as the site for his announcement. In the announcement, Hardiman talked about "strengthening the economy, increasing employment and good governance."
Hardiman was mayor of Kenwood before running for Michigan Senate in 2002, where he cannot run again due to term limits.
