A special surprise for one Jenison family --- they got a little help when it comes to holiday cheer.
For Amy Markle the countdown to Christmas couldn't come soon enough. That's when her husband Ryan will be home on leave from Iraq. Ryan left for his second tour of duty in Iraq just a short time after being awarded the purple heart. And while he's serving his country, Amy is busy at home with two young children, both under the age of two. With all of the hustle and bustle and no husband at home, it looked like there would be no decorations outside for Christmas this year.
"Having two kids and not having a husband home, it wouldn't have even crossed my mind to have something like that done," said Amy Merkle.
That's where Christmas Décor by Devries Landscape stepped in. They spent hours Thursday decorating the house for free. Now when Ryan comes home, he'll be greeted with Christmas lights.
