Today, Amway is celebrating it's 50th anniversary by opening a new welcome center at it's Ada headquarters. They're welcoming thousands of distributors from all around the world.

As part of those festivities, a major display of fireworks was sett of last night. The event sparked some controversy even though it was considered private. The public was "not encouraged to attend."

One representative says the fireworks show was about double the size of the Grand Rapid's Annual 4th of July event. Ahnabawen park, a usual spot to watch the fireworks was shut down for the evening.
