ALLEGAN COUNTY -
A burned body found in Casco Township in Allegan County near a burned out car has been identified as Brandon David Silverlight, 25, of the South Haven area. Police have now ruled the death a homicide. Officers say injuries discovered during the autopsy were not natural, so they say they are now investigating a murder. At this time they won't say what the injuries are.
The discovery of an apparent murder scene in the 400 block of 74th Street a few miles north of South Haven left neighbors unsettled.
First, a jogger discovered the burned hulk on his property last Saturday, November 14, and called police. When the Allegan County Sheriff's Department looked around, they found Silverlight's body.
Officers are trying to learn as much as they can about Silverlight. He's a graduate of WMU and was a member of the drumline. Some of his friends tell us music was his life.
Anyone with knowledge about the victim or more is asked to call Silent Observer at 800-554-3633.
