ALLEGAN COUNTY -
An official with the Michigan State Police says a teenager died today after drowning in an Allegan County lake while spending time with family and friends.
Police say it happened around 6:30 p.m. Friday night on Lake 16, about seven miles south of Allegan City.
The 14 year old was swimming with family and friends when he went under.
MSP says emergency responders found the boy unresponsive when they arrived on scene, and worked for a period of time to revive him.
The teen was rushed to the hospital, but passed away.
The teenager, who's name isn't being released, lived in the area
