GRAND RAPIDS—
FOX 17 caught up with 50 Cent and Chris Klein on the set of "Caught in the Crossfire"; a new movie being shot in Grand RapidsAnd this is no small budget production. Some big stars are here, such as rapper 50 Cent and Adam Rodriguez, who is best known for his role as Eric Delko on "CSI: Miami." And Chris Klein; you may remember him as "Oz" in the American Pie movies.
The crews have been working third shift shooting night scenes for the movie along the 6th Street Bridge in Grand Rapids. Last week, the crew was in the Arena district, shooting at J Gardella's. That scene was shot in the downstairs area of the bar.
Producers say they will be filming in Grand Rapids for another three weeks or so.
We have been seeing a lot more of the movie industry here in Michigan, mostly due to the major tax incentives that are being offered to help lure film makers here. Supporters believe the boost to local economies receive makes up for how much the state gives back. But opponents think the tax credits are still too generous, and the state is just too strapped for cash to be offering such breaks.
Legislation has already been introduced to reduce those credits.
