KALAMAZOO—
Two pedestrians were taken to the hospital after being struck by a drunken driver early Sunday in Kalamazoo.According to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred at about 2:45 a.m. when a car hit two people walking in the roadway in the 2600 block of Redwood Avenue.
The driver and both victims were transported to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Both accident victims were treated and kept for observation with non-life-threatening injuries while the driver was treated for minor injuries and then arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
"Citizens are reminded to avoid walking in the roadway whenever possible," said Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Lt. Don Benthin.
