People enjoyed food, music and drinks at Klingman's furniture store in Wyoming on Tuesday nightIt was the first ever "Twilight Shines'" fundraiser.
Senior Neighbors, a local non-profit that provides services to Kent County seniors, put on the event to raise money to help Kent County's aging population.
The group has 5 centers with locations in Grandville, Grand Rapids, Sparta, Walker, and Lowell.
At the event, local philanthropist Peter Wege was honored with a Twilight Shining Star award for his many contributions.
Wege says he was honored to get the award. He says his biggest achievement through the decades has been staying alive.
The 90-year old World War II veteran has had many roles through the years including environmentalist, businessman, father of eight, and someone who has given his life to helping others.
"There's an old motto do as much as you can for as many people as you can for as long as you can that's my motto," he said.
