MUSKEGON COUNTY -
Health officials in Muskegon County reported the first death related to the H1N1 virus Monday.
Officials received word from Mercy Health Partners' Hackley Campus that a 43-year old woman died after from the virus.
It's still unclear whether she had an underlying medical conditions.
Meanwhile, the state released updated numbers on the impact influenza has had in Michigan this season.
About 27,000 cases of the season flu have been reported statewide.
More than 1,500 of those people have been hospitalized since the beginning of September.
At least 54 of those cases were fatal.
