West Michigan Idol Returns!
American Idol returns to FOX 17 in January, but you don't have to wait until then to watch, or take part in the excitement that is American Idol! On Wednesday, July 1st, FOX 17 will present the West Michigan Idol Contest at Kentwood Fine Arts Auditorium at East Kentwood High School.
We'll have local talent competing for a trip for 2 to Denver, Colorado from July 13th - July 16th and a GUARANTEED AUDITION (in front of American Idol producers) to the next season of American Idol!
There will be two audition rooms where each contestant will have 30 seconds to audition, a cappella (without music); in front of celebrity judges. One of the areas will be in front of a live audience; the other will be in a separate room. Contestants will be picked at random to determine which staging area they will perform. The top 10 contestants, the top five from each audition room, will each sing again to compete to become the next West Michigan Idol. Contestants will be judged on singing and stage presence. FOX 17 will notify the first 300 valid online entries by telephone. Registration at the contest begins at 5:00PM (You must have pre-registered on WXMI.com in order to take part at the event) and the auditions will run from approximately 6:00 - 8:30 PM.

Limited seating is available to the public to view the West Michigan Idol auditions and admission is free! If you are going to be a contestant in West Michigan Idol check out the Official Contest Rules before the event.
